Dedicated to Cats and Cat Lovers

Picture

In 1968, Bobara Pendergrast started Olde Calico Cattery -- one of the first such catteries dedicated to the breeding of show-quality, bi-color persian cats.  After several years of effort by Bobara, her sister Margee Cotton (Cottonpatch Cattery), and a number of close friends, bi-colors were recognized as an official color for judging in the Cat Fanciers Assoication (CFA) in 1971.  Cartoon, pictured above, became one of the first calico Grand Champions.  This picture, by reknown photographer Creszentia Allen, is popular throughout the world!

In 1989, Bobara combined her love of cats with the antique, Victorian jewelry that she had collected for years.  “I have always loved the Victorian look in jewelry, and I had a few antique cat charms that I wore.  As I looked for more cat jewelry, I found that most of it had a sleek modern look.

I got the look I wanted when I combined the Victorian jewelry with old cat charms.” Bobara also discovered she had a talent for carving new designs in wax.  The result -- an incredibly unique and original look.  Olde Calico Designs’ jewelry has been featured at fine stores and sold as collectables at auctions.  Take a look at Bobara’s unusal and eye-catching designs!
